I cant give you a complete guide tbh. Only done a couple over the years, and they are not easy.I think to be honest, i would remove the engine, and do all the other trickey jobs and be done with it, ie cambelt and clutch. Last one I did was a pug 306, and we dropped the front subframe, trouble is as they are old , lots of things are seized etc.
Takes the best part of a day if i remember correctly.

I don't know how much help this will be, there doesn't seem to be a listing specifically for the 2.0L HDI and I can't copy the images that the numbers refer to.

Remove :
The engine sub-frame (see the relevant operation)
The catalytic converter
The turbocharger inlet duct (2)
The turbocharger outlet duct (1)
The oil supply pipe (10) (on the engine)
The oil return (11) (on the turbocharger)
The nuts (6)
The screws (5)
The screws (4)
Retrieve the seal , at " a " .
Lift and release the EGR valve (7) .
Remove :
The 8 nuts (3) and their spacers
The exhaust gas manifold (8), the turbocharger (9)
Separate the turbocharger from the exhaust manifold .
2. Refitting
Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

ive got sorted here im just about to fit the new one(tea break) for anyone looking this info in the future....

jack car up and support on ramps
take drivers side driveshaft out
remove rear engine/driveshaft mount
remove the few plastic pipes etc
then 3 11mm bolts hold the turbo onto the manifold...

no need for engine removal or subframe removal, dunno where that came from, for anyone else stuck and looking more info on it feel free to ask.

On my C5 those three 11mm bolts to the manifold are Allen screws and they proved impossible to remove on the vehicle, had to get the manifold off and heat it with a blowtorch before they'd shift.
