So found out on here how they come off and set to it. Struggled to get the rubber off, ended up ordering a new one and butchering it but it came off in the end
Then removed the track rod. Special tool? Yes a big long chisel and a hammer
New one arrived, went to fit the track rod end into it and guess what? Yes, it was a later one and the threads were the wrong size
That was the only one they had so had to order one to arrive next week. So had to put the old one back on for now (with loctite so it doesn't work loose).
The good news was that the exhaust back box was in stock and fitted! So the exhaust should now pass the MOT and looks much better.
Back to it on Monday when (hopefully) the new trackrod will arrive.
