I have a 1.6 HDI berlingo van 57 plate. I had a problem with the EGR Valve is somehow lost the bottom pressed in plate resulting in the exhaust gas being directed onto the fuel pressure sensor. the end of this and the plug melted. So I got a pressure sensor from ebay soldered on another connector and replaced the egr valve. Bobs your uncle I thought but nothing. It just turns over.
A few of questions.
Would a fuel pressure sensor from any HDI be ok?
Do I need to get rid of any error codes and would these stop it running?
Can I reset the ecu and do I need to?
I dont really know where to go from here.
berlingo problems.

Re: berlingo problems.
Lots of questions there
I think your problem must be the rail pressure switch, as the egr would not top it running.
Question is did you bleed it properly, as you will now have let air in if you removed that switch, and the 1.6's are hard to bleed. If you didnt bleed it, they will never start.
If it isn't ths, you need to get onto ome diagnostic tool, to read live data .
It's worth remembering that a fuel pressure switch cannot usually be bought separate from the rail, apparently due to the possible ingress of dirt.
