Height contoler or Sphere Fault

Unread post by imperial21 »

Hi All
I am a bit confussed by my Xantia problem, I have recently been putting the Xantia in Low height settings at night to make sure all is ok what i am finding is the car is strugling to raise at the back, The front come up quite quickly but the back would nt come up in the end i moved the leaver to service level and car creaked and judered up, I then set the lever back to normal, Suspension is working ok when driving.
Saturday i worked the car through the height settings and the car would nt come up and the front sphere was clicking maddly, but they dont click when in normal mode.

Sounds like your height corrector linkages , most likely the rear are sticking, certainly the case for the rear not coming up.

I second Lighty... I wont be the Spheres OR Height corrector itself, but the Linkage levers that control the height corrector itself.. they are a common siezure item on the xantias at the rear. The fronts dont normally and didnt on XUD cars due to common oil leaks from the engines keeping them lubricated...

Have a look at other "Rear height corretor" posts, a little further down for a breakdown diagram of a rear linkage control unit...
