AX spark plug gap

Unread post by scratcher »

Hi, I am 'lumbered' with getting my grandsons AX ready for MOT. What is the correct spark plug gap for a just under 1000cc engine? The BOL says it is at the beginning of the relavent chapter-rubbish and the Citroen manuel says that this an important measurement for the efficient running of the car but does not state what it should be. If all else fails I will set it at 27thou. and hope. Gerry

the BOL im sure will have the plug gap somewere, have you looked under the ignition section,

i dont have one to hand at the mo but would think 25thou, as that is what most gaps were for that vintage of car,

Hi, the BOL states that information is given at the begining of the chapter, but it is not there and I can not find it anywhere in the book. Gerry

Thanks for all the replies, I am used to older cars which had a 25thou gap and that is just the thickness of my thumbnail, there's a handy thing. Gerry
