couple of S2 Xant estate questions!

After noon all.
Couple of quick questons for you knowledgeable ones!

S2 estate front discs, do they run the larger 288 mm discs or the older 266mm? Am I correct in thinking they share discs with the V6 and turbo models?

Am creating a list of what to get!

Also, front fog lights, are they H1 or H3? One of mine has died! I looked on ebay but got a bit confused haha some places suggested the main beam, high beam and foglights were all the same size? Handy if so!

My main computer has died and held all the techy info I had so am on the tablet (hence the bad spelling and grammar)! and is taking some getting used to!

Only the HDi 110 has the biggest disks (a la V6 and 2.0T) and Bosch brakes. The others have the middle size discs (283 or something).

yep my hdi 110 has 288mm discs

the fogs are h1 i believe

Ah! Yeah 282/ 3certainly rings a bell!

Okay so fog lamps, how on earth do you get to the damn things if youve got normal sized arms! Id ask my 5 year old to help but she wouldnt be able to do the retaining springs! ( previous h1 experience!) I can just about get to the plug but no chance of anytging else!

Remove the front bumper! TBH its not that bad a job, 10 mins at most.

Seriously?? Okay, so quick how too?? Will grab a pair ofbulbs then, replacethem both, quite fancy yellow bulbs in them (put yellow lamps on the bx and wasmuch better in fog/mizzle!

I haven't done this for a while but IIRC loosen (or remove) three or four nuts under the front and one or two bolts each side where the wheelarch liner attaches, then in each front wheelarch remove/pull back the front of the liner and remove the self tapper at the inside top of the bumper then pull the bumper forward. As I say I haven't done it for a while but its not as difficult or as lengthy as you think.

Correct, mine (2.0i 16V Estate) has 283 mm front disks.

S2 models fogs are H1, just like head lights (both high and low beam).

Fog lights can be changed by removing front indicators.

Edit: I can't remember his nick but I remember that he had a Xantia S2 Estate white colored

Ideal, thanks for that, seems a lot ofplacs suggest the lights are h7 h7 h1??
Guss easiest way will be pop a bulb out and check,

If it's MK2 (S2) Xantia, they're definitely type (H1 + H1) and H1

Hi there!
both head light and fog lights are definitely h1,s on my my mark 2 xantia (1999). I have changed fog light bulbs on mine by removing indicator! it,s a bit fiddly but not too bad!!!

Had a quick look this avo and indicators are only a small plastic clip so simple removal! Just gotta try and squeeze my arm in the gap!

I tend to remove the blinker, then the moustache trim, then the headlight - more room (less risk of touching the bulb's glass) and not much extra work.
