Electric Adjust Seats - Fuse failure

Post by addo »

Had one pop this week past - unusual, or a commonplace occurrence?

Most fuses in the board looked original (DAV type). I slotted another 30A unit in, and so far no pop.

Anyone care to share similar - or differing - experiences they may have had?

Cheers, Adam.

This is an indication that the motor is working on its limits.
Probably due to dry guide rails.

The fuse should only blow if the motor is stalled for some time.

If 2 motors are fed off the same fuse, it may be a totally different story though.
Then it could be a delay in a functional switch or relay contact set, causing the circuit to overload, if both motors are engaged.
