which oil

Post by 411514 »

Which oil does everyone think is best for the c5 hdi 110, i believe that citroen recommend total quartz 9000 5w-40 which i think is part synthetic, alternatively asda do an own brand 10w-40 fully synthetic, and halfords do an 10w-40 part synthetic, all for around the same price, if anyone else has any suggestions for around £20 for 5L i would be glad to hear them, any input welcomed, cheers sam.

According to autodata you can use 0w/30 synthetic, 5w/30 synthetic, 5w/40 synthetic, or 10w/40 semi-synthetic depending on ambient temperature I use 10w/40 semi-synthetic, I'm assuming you have an early c5 this info is for an 02 110 hdi

I use and highly recommend Morris servol 10w40. Available from your local motor factor for about £50-60 for a TWENTY FIVE Ltr drum, thats £5 per 5 ltr !!!
Been using it my Xantia's all the time I've owned them and it's done a faultless job.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(

When I was into Saab turbos the club feeling was that zero viscosity oils were a big no-no.

£50/25 = £2 litre or £10 per 5 litre.... still good value though.

Oooop's  Thats what a glass of red does to me these days !!
Anyway, it is very good value and don't think because the price is low that it's in anyway cheap and nasty ! The quality is excellent and I rate it against anything.
