Am i right in thinking to disable the egr valve on a 2 lt diesel c5 i only have to remove the vacuum pipe and plug the pipe.

Thats correct but only if its working ok just now, if its stuck open then disconecting the vac pipe will do nothing.

Thanks for that Wheeler, just one other thing do i need a special tool to remove the collar that holds the egr valve to the cooler. cheers Stan

There is a proper tool (clic pliers) for it but you can remove & refit them without damaging them with normal side cutters.
