Xsara cylinder head bolt washers

Post by Badobsession »

Hi all, im wondering if someone can help?
Im in the process of refitting a cylinder head after a cam belt failure but have run into a self inflicted problem as usual!!!
There are ten cylinder head bolts and eight washers that go under them, been a while since i took it apart and cant work out whether i have lost a couple or thats how it should be.
There is a spacer which i remember came from the drivers side rear bolt (looking down on the head from the front of the car) but a little concerned about the washers and if they do not use two which bolts should they be missing from.
The car is a 1998 1.8 petrol twin cam 16 valve and the engine is an XU7, LFY is the engine code.
Cheers, Rob.

The bad news is that citroen service shows that there should be 10 washers, part number 0205 47 :(
