Probably need to know what car it's for...

I cannot think of what part this is bigblock :?

The only Xantia I know with something that vaguely fits this description is the V6 and that item is utterly unique to that vehicle and mounted on the nearside chassis rail below the battery.

Can you post a picture of the item in question please?

What is the problem it is causing?

that will be the anti sink valve, and can be fixed by just unscrewing the end/cap and fitting a new O ring,

below is the part and trade price you would require if fitting new and not just a new seal,

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
0000529302 VALVE 81.88 GBP 96.21 GBP 96.21 GBP

0000529301 VALVE 81.88 GBP 96.21 GBP 96.21 GBP

the first one is for cars with HYDRACTIVE, and the second one for NON H/A,

Malcolm, is there anything special about that O-ring?

I'm asking because (if mammary serves me correctly) it fails on most cars around 100K miles. So - mine's about due anytime! People here have intimated that some aspect of it was different to a regular O-ring.

Thanks, Adam.

citroen dont list the seal for the anti sink valve, but i sure it is the same as one of the two diferent sized pump seal,

Martin from Pleaides i think says the prob is caused be the seal seat in the A/S valve body
