Xantia Fuel Gauage

Post by harryjoe »

Hi all, once again..

Does anyone know if there is a simple fix for the fuel gauage ?
As having put nearly £70.00 in few day ago, and only having done around a 100 miles, it is now showing just above 1/2 tank, ( my 3 ltr Espace wasn't that thirsty )!, as it's only a 1.8 , this cannot be true !
I seem to remember from previous Xantia ownweship some year ago , that had a dodgy gauage too !!!

Anyone ?

Most gauges are non linear and inconsistant, you can only really check by filling the tank to the brim, then doing it again after a few miles and see how much fuel it has used.

The only other thing I can think of is if there is a voltage regulator for the instrument panel that could be playing up, but that would normally affect all the gauges.

The gauge pins on the dash panel are prone to dry solder joints.
