Xantia 1.9 d turbo axle onto a hdi?

Post by Porkchop »

Do ye think this would work? the d turbo in question is a 99 model, the hdi is 01. d turbo has drums and hdi has discs but would that matter? i'm sure the brake set up could be swapped?

All rear subframes from around 1997 are the same being fitted with the anti sink system!

ALL Hydraulic citroens, thats DS, GS, BX, CX, XM, Xantia ALL have disks at the rear!!

Theres ONLY 4 pipes to disconnect from the rear and then the WHOLE rear subframe cone come away as a COMPLETE unit!! Theres one to each end of the subframe, and two that goto to centre units!!..

4 Bolts hold the frame on! you'll need to remove the exhaust back box and possible the main pipe to remove the frame too...

I thought that ALL hydraulic Citroens had discs all round, with the possible exception of early DSs.

Indeed. At least through to the "second front" they were rear drum braked.

Could be third front cars were 4W disc (excluding breaks?), but have never paid enough attention to be certain.

Addo, I think the DS was always drums... it was the CX that introduced the Disks to the rears, then the GS then the BX, then the XM, then the Xantia.. in that introduction order

(Note: SM excluded, apart from the looks and the engines I do NOT know near enough about those machines)
