My remote stopped working all of a sudden.
I have read that it might loose its "coding" if activated "repeatedly out of range" and it would then need to be recoded at a dealers shop.
Can it be anything else? (fuese ? etc)
The central locking itself works when activated by the lock.

Cant you also do a "Home Reminder" like on the Xsaras??
If you put the key in the ignition, and switch on the ignition so the warning lights are all on, then press the lock button a few times, would this not make it remember?? I KNOW IT DOES on the Xsara, because I did it not so long ago on one here, a 2000 X plate model..

Re: Xantia X2- central locking Remote
Hi, on my Xantia HDi I had the same symptoms. Firstly I changed the battery in the remote unit and synchronised the codes (ignition on and press a button on the remote - it is described in the user's manual). But with no effect.Krede wrote:My remote stopped working all of a sudden.

The central locking itself works when activated by the lock.
Later, on Lexia the Texton unit had to be newly "programmed" to accept the remote sender and this did the trick Have heard, that it is a quite common trouble on Xantias Mk2.

Is it an infra red remote? if so then you can check if the LED is flashing using a digital camera or camcorder. These can pick up infra red light. This would give you a useful go/nogo test. See my reply to another poster here:-
