hi

search the site and cannot find the info i need, where is the thermostat on a 1996,2.0 lt, td xantia, and how do you change it.

Follow the top hose from the radiator, the part the engine is end is fitted to is the thermostat housing. Remove the bolts and lift off, remove the thermostat.

Paco, you say a 2.0L TD. Do you mean a 2.1TD?

If it is a 2.1TD, the thermostat is deep down in the waterpump housing. To find it, follw the bottom hose and at the end of it you'll find the thermostat. Access is no too gaood and it's a lay on your back job and water will drip on you whilst changing it :twisted:

Every other Xantia (except the V6) has the thermostat in the normal, conventional place.

Different kettle of fish altogether. :) I assumed he meant 1.9 - don't know why.
