headlamp renault clio 1997 mk1

I recently replaced the drivers side headlamp but now it is out of alignmnet with the passenger side.
On investigation the alignment motor turns when I use the interior control but the headlamp doesnt move.
Can I remove the motor from the headlamp to try & fix this
(it must be a cog wheel or something come loose)
or have I got to buy another one?

Late reply I know, but it's a ball and socket affair, it may have come out. You just twist the motor to remove it, so it's a case of taking a look.
