Hi all
Just bought a 406 HDI 90 with water leak, traced it to the thermostat housing.
I have put everything back except the turbo pipes and now it won't start!
Turns over, fuel is is priming but nothing.
Also I noticed the immobiliser icon on the dash does not come on although the bulb is working? I cannot remember weather it did before ony had it for 1 day.
I have read the forums but not sure what to do next
ANY IDEAS I AM PULLING MY HAIR OUT THANKS
1999 Peugeot 406 LX HDI 90HP will not start!

On Xantia's the immobiliser light briefly blinks prior to starting, so I presume a Pug will do the same. I take it you are using the same key to start it with and not another one supplied by the previous owner, it could be that the second key needs programming to the immobiliser.
Failing that the logical sugggestion is that a connector somehwere under the bonnet has been pulled off inadvertantly and not been re-connected. I don't think it will make a difference to starting but have you tried with the turbo pipes back on? HDi's have sensors for everything you could ever imagine and a few more besides such as air flow on the induction pipes.
