what the fault if it jumps allong even though its got movment in the front suspention, J reg with sports mode

Malcolm, when you say it jumps along, do you mean it is feeling really hard at the front?

If this is it then your front is stuck in hard mode due, most likely, to a failed diode in the electrovalve or a totally flat centre sphere.

J reg I would expect it to be the old Hydractive I. On these, if I'm thinking correctly, the "Sport" switch puts the suspension into full-time hard mode and not a lot else. It may be worth checking this switch is doing what it should.

ok thanks Jim how do i go about checking that, i have just fitted new front spheres and im fitting a centre one this afternoon, i is a bit of a dogy though, it almost looks like shes ridding to low, but as i said before there is movment in the front susp

Change the centre sphere first, then try it again, before you do anything else.

now i have fitted the centre sphere as well it is all well at the front, now you can feel the rear end is hard, the owner will have to put his hand back into his pocket again

Well done! Its amazing how many people neglect to change the centre spheres, when they are responsible for the soft ride! Probably ignorance of the way hydractive works, if they have been used to one of the older types.
