Xantia Brake Bleed Order?

Unread post by CitroJim »

I'll be hydraflushing the Activa soon.

After the stuff goes in and I've done citarobics, what order should I bleed the brakes or does it not matter?

Thanks!
Jim

I heard that you are supposed to do the longest pipe run first and the shortest last, but that might be poop.
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

No need to - as it still does not make any difference.
Its taken from the steel sprung cars with the foot-on-pedal brake pressure, where you have to pump considerably to move the fluid all along the longest lines.

Id say do the Citaerobics first to minimize trapped air in the rear suspension that feeds the rear brakes circuit.

Then flush the calipers well using a long fuel hose to return the fluid to the reservoir. Just need to have engine running and pedal down.

on so called convetional brake systems you would normaly bleed from the furthest away from the master cylender first, i dont belive this is the case with hydraulic citroens
