Where can I find from which Orga a Xantia would come with antisink?
Thanks.
Orga number for the Xantia antisink start?

Cant remember the RP no that anti sink came in on, but it was about half way through the L reg cars.
Easiest way to tell is to look at the hydraulic pump, early cars without the anti sink were fitted with the 6 cylinder (2 pipe) pump and the anti sink models were fitted with the 6 + 2 cylinder (3 pipe) pump.
Also the non anti sink has a flow distributor valve, whilst the anti sink cars dont have one.

in July 94, so it should have antisink. I will check the pump monday. It looks the same as the one in my 96 and not like the one in my BX...
A quote from one of the Citroen manual suppliments I have:
"Since december 1993, all the XANTIA vehicles with power assisted steering have been equipped, in production, with the "SC/MAC" (Citroen system of maintenance of a constant ground clearance).
NOTE: Japan has been fitted with the "SC/MAC" in july 1994."
Checking for one or two steel output pipes from the pump is still the only sure-fire way to know of course...(who knows how long cars sit in stock before selling)

Simon

ok. that confirms the car has antisink. It has two steel pipes. It also confirms its broken as the car goes almost to the floor as soon as I start the engine, then comes back up...Mandrake wrote:A quote from one of the Citroen manual suppliments I have:

Very true.. my TD came of the production line in April 98 and was first registered in December 99
But regardless... I think the 'non' antisink cars seem more 'Citroen'....

As a rough guide, the earlier cars with the badge on the bonnet & a two spoke steering wheel didn't have antisink, whereas those with the later badge on grille & four spoke wheel with airbag did have antisink.
There was no exact changeover point in terms of registration date - I've seen a few of the earlier type on M plates, and the later type on L

I wouldn't go by that...nick wrote:As a rough guide, the earlier cars with the badge on the bonnet & a two spoke steering wheel didn't have antisink, whereas those with the later badge on grille & four spoke wheel with airbag did have antisink.
The chevrons moved from the bonnet to the grill during 1995, well after the transition to anti-sink. My Dad's mid-1994 model has chevrons on the bonnet but does have anti-sink... and whether the car has an air bag has nothing at all to do with it... (and is very region/market dependant)

In the UK the "official" date for the introduction of the facelifted model, drivers airbag and antisink was July 1994 - doubtless there are exceptions, and it will also be different in other regions as you say.Mandrake wrote: I wouldn't go by that...
