The wire which controls the recycle/fresh air button on the xantia was loose, by this i mean the circular slot that the wire end engages into was not engaging, because the wire is slightly kinked in a couple of places, therefore kept coming out when I move the outside control.
I have therefore placed the wire end into its slot and held it down with some strong tape, so now the wire moves with the control knob at the front, and also the circular devise to which it is connected to also rotates.
When moving the outside control from side to side i can hear a noise of flaps moving from underneath the glovebox.
So can i assume that the recycle is now working, bearing in mind the wire is in its slot and does not come out, the circular thing moves and also the noise under the glovebox when I operate the control.

Hi Kid
The answer is simply Yes if you can hear the flaps move , you have got it connected up.
Cheers,
Kenny
