A friend of mine is an MOT tester, but as he's just gone self employed he's not set himself up as a station yet, so come MOT time I'll get him to give it a once over for me and see what it's like. If it'll pass another MOT without much work then it'll get one, if it won't then I'll decided what to do nearer the time.

It's a V6 so really needs to be saved if at all possible. Can't be many left at all now...

I've been speaking to someone about this and I reckon that it might be able to live on after it's MOT is due.

Absolutely Bit of welding and a bit of piping and she'll be a good 'un.

Rear brake pipes are a rotten job though. Done one. Horrid

'Slightly' would infer they're not seriously bad perhaps?

Well once I get some other bits and pieces done I'll be getting her up in the air and getting a look underneath.

The suspension on it is rock hard yet there's no errors showing on the hydractive ecu. I'm reasonably sure that it's the electrovalve leaking, but it's odd that there's no faults stored.

Does anyone know if a Xantia electrovalve will fit it?

Electrovales will only produce a fault if they look electrically unhappy David.. Yours are clearly quite content in that respect...

Can you hear them humming in soft mode?

Are the spheres OK?

If spheres are simply flat that will be your suspension issue with no ecu errors..

It's far more likely the hydractive centre/regulator spheres are completely punctured. You can throw a couple of spare accumulator spheres on in their place as a quick test!

As Jim says unless the electrovalve is electrically faulty it won't log a fault code. Even a high resistance coil won't trigger it unless its really high - normal resistance is 3.3 ohms but the ECU is "happy" even with as high as 100 ohms or so...
