And here is my TCT Activa project. Sadly the engine caught fire... I believe that the petrol pipe split and gasoline poured over the hot engine. Before the fire it was really looked after and quite a few thousand euros was spent on it. New strut tops (original Citroen), hydractive valves, spheres, engine mounts, brakes, rear arm bearings, tyres (winter and summer) etc. I have the donor apart so now just need to fit everything needed. But it's hard to find time as it's quite a project...

Xantos, that is heart-breaking

. Do hope it has't done too much damage, esp to wiring and such. Your project just ramped up. So sad.

I bought this car so the previous owner cared for it. Bought it because it is generally in really good condition.

My TCT had real rust problem but the engine was rebulit, so it became a donor car...

I'm thinking of swapping the interiors of my TCT and V6 as the TCT has leather in really good condition and V6 has cloth and it's also in good condition. I will probably sell TCT and I will be lucky if I get a few hundred euros for it. What do you think about interior swap?

Anyone here wants to buy a burnt TCT Activa?

I add all the bits and pieces and also the engine that was rebuilt aprox. 15kkm ago...

I'm so sorry to see the car was on fire

It's a known problem now with the TCT and always worth checking the fuel lines to the fuel rails very regularly... They perish badly...

Did a bit of spannering...

Changed the track end rods, lower ball-joints, stabiliser rods, changed oil, oil filter and fitted a new steering gaiter. Stabiliser rods lasted 6 months and started rattling. I don't remember which brand I used but now I have TRW and hope they will last longer... Well its no surprise they didn't last long considering sh**** roads we have

Then went to a garage to adjust the track rods. The car feels much sharper on curves and there is no more rattling from the suspension

And ride quality has improved also

Would it be ok driving with no coolant (cold engine) for max. 2 minutes?

I am changing the cambelt on my Xantia V6 and I planed to change the radiator as well as it is leaking but I didn't get the right one

Just checked the box and not its content and today shock! Right ident number but wrong contet!

So I wonder if I can drive of the ramp and park it outside the workshop with no coolant whatsoever in the engine. I would very like to avoid pushing the car...

Very wise advice...

V6 head gaskets can go very quickly indeed with no coolant present. Just not worth the risk.

Forgot to mention that coolant is driping somewhere above the gearbox (cabin side). Is there a standard fault on V6?

Yes, the 'degassing tank' or 'bubble breaker' most likely.. That's the white spherical plastic object just below the coolant header tank which in itself is a problem as it splits..

Also, in that area is a short pipe between the thermostat housing and the 'degassing tank' that likes to split too...

The 'degassing tank' is now NFP sadly

The header tank is still available...

Well than the bubble breaker has to be repaired... I'm thinking of taking it to someone who welds plastics. And my radiator as well...

Cam belt changed and it's not a difficult at all job as someone might expect!

Just couldn't get the belt on while everything was attached, so I removed the whole tensioner assembly and positioned the belt and than bolted the tensioner assembly. It's one thing that puzzles me... Why are the cam shaft pulley bolts torqued with only 10Nm? I would expect that it would be more... Would there be a problem if the would be tightened FT (full torque of fu**** tight

)

EDIT: It's quite difficult to get to the bubble breaker as I was looking... Inlet manifold off I would reckon...
