Ditto. Many's the time that I've cursed the eco kicking in and then having to struggle against the motorised struts to get them to disengage.
Slightly push up then down. This way the clutch will instantly unlock :)

Also change your battery.

Removing is also possible. Takes about an hour or two.

This is exactly what I do but I disagree that it is instant. I find that you have move the tailgate up and down a couple of times to disengage the struts.

Oh the battery is definitely past its best as it's 7 years old. It's only the tailgate that finds it a problem, though. I can leave the car for several weeks and there's enough grunt to start the car without a problem. It's only the tailgate that's so sniffy about the battery and it just wouldn't matter with a manual tailgate.

The Economy Mode I mentioned before is here that improves things on the Tourers with motorised tailgate:

Yeah, I know that Marc but I'm a lazy bugger who'd rather whinge about something! :rofl2:

Hello to you all.

I revive this topic as I have a similar issue, but on my Peugeot 508 RXH 2017, blueHdi 180cp. I did a lot so far, from replacing the strouts to replacing the motor and the locker and still no fix.
The tailgate simply doesn’t lift nor close from any command. Not even with diagbox actuator tests.

I should mention that the motorized tailgate ECU is somehow stuck in “Learning in progress”. Even if I erase the programming, it jumps directly into learning in progress immediately and while trying to program it it doesn’t do anything.
Also, while pressing the tailgate buttons (interior/exterior) sometimes it beeps twice. Also sometimes when I close the lid, it long beeps once.
The light on the interior switch is dimmed out, not how it used to be (strong reddish).

I plan now to try to measure the continuity of all the cables from BSI to the tailgate, to see if there is any broken cable. Visually I checked, but I observed nothing wrong.

Is there somebody which can help with harness wire diagram? (BSI to tailgate).

Any help would be much appreciate!

Cheers!

That's the best place to start and checking the actual loom from where it enters the tailgate as this is a common area for cable breaks.

I may be able to assist with a diagram, but it depends on the year. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Ok, so sorry, I don't have a diagram for this model after checking - it's a later vehicle than for what I have.

Thanks for trying.
Is this information available in servicebox? If I buy subscription, where could I find it?

You'll have to navigate their site, sorry, but will be available under the diagnostics / technical documentation areas once you have subscribed. It's not the easiest site to navigate.

Sorry to hijack this thread. I have a 2011 C5 X7 with a power tailgate. I'm wondering if it is possible to disable the centre button on the key fob. I keep accidentally pushing the centre button when the key is in my pocket and a couple of times now the dogs have got out without me noticing. Many thanks in advance for any help you can give.

You can get the dealer to deactivate it for you as it requires a change in the BSI to disable it - or someone with experience that has Diagbox.
