Have a look around Lexia whilst there (with caution obviously) to see if you can see what it is or isn't doing

Ok, so the comms unit is faulty then - is that what Lexia indicated? Let me know iof you want the part number for that.

6160C0?

Just spoken to the hub, they would have to order it in, but it's only £5.90 so it's not too bad.

That's the Transponder aerial - not the Comms Unit - completely different. But correct part if you are getting a new aerial and I think I suggested earlier that that was a cheap enough option to try first.

The comms unit is the control unit that handles amongst other things the info from the transponder aerial and passes this to the BSI and back again.

I've replaced the transponder coil before but I think when it worked itself loose it strained the wire. How much would a new comms unit be?

Marc, would you send a picture of the comms unit please as someone local to me is breaking a C2!

The picture won’t help Tom, there are 100s of Comms units, and they all look similar. Putting the wrong one in can cause additional ones problems. I will get you the part number a little later when I’m back on the Hal9000

Was on the tablet (not the pills) when I wrote that - and watching a movie, so sorry if that came out a bit wrong! :-D

Here you go, if you think you need a replacement:

Part number 6239ZX. One here for £90, but as I said, it MUST be the correct part. The manufacturer's part will be on the inside of the unit itself and begin 96 or 98.

But for how long I wonder!

Well done! Just don’t go and drop it down the drain! You might want to consider another fob as a backup 👌

I’m going to program the transponder only key to get me out of the brown stuff if I need it!
