Sorry, I can't advise on this system as the updates are supposed to be received automatically via OTA (Over The Air).

First install 42.01.72.32_NAC-r0
Marc, I downloaded the firmware from the URL you provided, but it was 31-09-46-62_NAC-r0, not 42.01.72.32_NAC-r0 you recommended to use first. Nevertheless, I tried to upgrade the firmware with 31-09-46-62_NAC-r0, but received an error message "Version is not compatible with the hardware". Could this happen because I tried to apply 31-09-46-62_NAC-r0 instead of 42.01.72.32_NAC-r0? Would you please suggest what else could be done?
I do appreciate your support.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, so my bad - the file is correct, but I renamed it incorrectly - now corrected above.

Have your read the following guide on how to use the licence file? This message can appear when the licence file is not being read.

Instructions for Updating NAC or RCC Firmware, Maps & Licences

If you have the licence file and all the other files correctly on the USB as per the instructions and it still is not working, then let me know as you may need to try earlier update files in succession. Are you sure your existing version is 30.05.50.41_NAC-r0 and not 30.05.50.42_NAC-r0? If so you probably have the first factory applied firmware as that was never released.

I have. The USB stick root file system screenshot is in the attachment. The license .key file is in the /license folder. The instruction says it is license, not licence :)

You are right, my current version is 30.05.50.42_NAC-r0.

Ok, I know it says 'license' in the guidance, but this has been an issue on some vehicles, so just try renaming the FOLDER only to 'licence' and try again will you, thanks.

I have renamed the folder to licence and tried to upgrade. It hasn't helped, unfortunately, the error is the same: "Version is not compatible with the hardware" :(.
I also put .mp3 file on the flash drive to check if the car can read the flash at all. I was able to play the .mp3, so I assume this is not a flash drive issue.
Marc, please advise if you have any other ideas what goes wrong and what could be done to upgrade. Maybe an older firmware version could help?
Thanks in advance.

You can't install older firmware.

So if you are 100% you have formatted the USB to FAT 32;
100% sure the files are extracted as above with no zip / rar file on the USB, and positive the licence file is inside the folder on the USB;
Have tried a new USB drive;

I don't know what else to suggest - I assume this is an original head unit that has not been replaced (as the licence file won't be valid otherwise).

You only other option is to get your dealer to sort it. Not sure how long you have owned it, but as this has the original firmware installed, this may be why it has never been updated before....

You can try a BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure as this can sometimes fix issues including head unit bugs. The Head units are always powered on so this will restart the ECU. Then you can try again (with the 2 spellings of the 'licence' folder.

Hello Marc, hope you are doing well.

I have a Citroen C5 Aircross and the "My Citroen" app has been informing about available updates. Specifically, it says "Update available (6_0422_23.3I37.1)"

May I ask for the files to install the update through USB? This is my VIN: VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Thanks in advance.

Afternoon team - long time lurker and general French car owner, more on the 205/306 side but i still carry the love for the baguette in my heart.. :-D

Our family car is a 2015 C4 Picasso, which i've been trying to update the maps on to no avail, cant even get the download link to work, did a bit of googling which bought me here.. From a previous thread of yours GiveMeABreak i have dowloaded PSA_ovip-int-firmware-version_44-07-05-22_NAC-r0_NAC_EUR_WAVE4 and PSA_rcc-firmware_6_0422_23-3I37-1_RCC_EU_W3_ECO, are these the latest revisions?

My vin is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff], I presume i dont have WiFi due to the age so wondered if you'd be kind enough to generate a licence file please? Or if you have any other pertaining to the car with regards to its status that'd be cool too..

@ studarude:

You don't have a Connected Nav (NAC) or RCC system for which this thread is uniquely for.

You have a SMEG system and so I can't help you, sorry. You may need to visit your dealer if you have an issue or require an update.

You should never use firmware I provide for vehicles other than for those intended.

Good evening,
I've got a 2016 citroen dispatch and the app informed me I have an update for the touchscreen. My current software is 7.1.3
I've tried using the citroen software with various usbs and I keep getting an error saying version not compatible.
Would it be possible for you to send me the update files please.

My VIN number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Many thanks
