Or remove as much as you can. If it breaks as you lever it out of the clip ten no worries, it might even make it easier to remove!
It's the low pressure return from the suspension leg, Jim.

Like I say, I have no way of getting at it really. I have no idea where it ends I cannot see it once it goes behind the aircon pipes towards the doseur valve. It just vanishes into thin air!

Roger, it will go across the bulkhead and end up just below the LHM reservoir. It ends at a junction with the corresponding return from the LH strut. From this junction a pipe then goes into the rubber return octopus.

As it's a low pressure return you can take plenty of liberties with it. It does not even need to be a metal pipe. All you need to do is ensure it eventually gets back to the LHM reservoir...

If you pop off the LHM reservoir and see where the LH return ends up all should be clearer.

I'd think there's plenty of scope for a bit of creativity here...

Hope that helps a bit...

I wanted to keep it neat.

I've got the silicone tube (probably only purchased a metre though thinking I was going to use 5 cm..) and metal pipe clips.

I could temporarily route it a different way.

I have the same problem with this pipe leaking. Here's what I've done. Hoping the info is useful to someone else.

This photo shows the plastic clip that holds the pipe to the side of the engine bay.

It has two channels in it. One holds the pipe and the other is free. I reached up from the wheel arch, was able to slot a screwdriver into the free channel and prise the clip off. I could then straighten out the end of the pipe, force it into the engine bay and bend it upwards.

I then had really good access to cut the rusty end off the pipe. Just waiting for a silicone tube from eBay to patch it up.

(In the photo you can see a sheath on the pipe. That was a previous unsuccessful attempt to fix the leak.)

I would 100% NOT use silicon tube from ebay as I expect it not to be the correct type (Fluoro Silicone). Standard Silicon is porous (well more oil-scopic) and mineral oil will break it down.

Use the correct grade of buna rubber OR use the polyurethane "hard" tube used in truck air brake systems.
