The fix is in the How to pages for members:

Economy Mode Fix Procedure (C5 X7)
Marc, I can't find your procedure in the 'How To' section & the link doesn't work. Do you you still have this procedure please?
I'd like to carry this out on my C5 Tourer.
Thanks.
Documents in the 'Resources' section are for donating members along with the mechanics handbooks.
Thank you Marc,
I’ve made a donation.

Economy Mode Fix Procedure (C5 X7)
Sorry to drag up an old thread. I've a 2014 Dispatch van & I'd like to stop the 'economy mode' switching off the radio & interior lights whilst I'm working from the van. Does your 'fix' disable the economy mode?
I've got Diagbox & the only thing I'm able to do is temporarily disable it for up to 60 min.

Thanks for your help.

No, as the issue was for vehicles where the Battery Charge Status Unit was managing the economy mode and was kicking in almost straight away. My fix only passes management of the energy saving mode back to the BSI. So you will still only get 30 mins max, unless you have disabled it temporarily in Diagbox for 60 minutes which is only really for diagnostic reasons.

With all the electronics, you do risk problems if the voltage drops below a certain level.

Looks like some rewiring is in order then! I've already added a fuse box in the rear fed directly from the battery for the trailer lights plus in preparation for converting it to a day van. It will not be hard to wire the interior light to the fuse box & bypass all this bsi nonsense!
Likewise I'm adding a second head unit to get DAB plus improve the sound but retaining the old one as its linked to the centre display in the dash. The output from the original will go to the aux in on the new one & it will not be wired through the bsi but directly to the battery!

Hey

I can't seem to access the write-up of the fix, would you be able to post it again? I'm interested in trying it out.

Thanks!

Both my C5's go into power saving mode almost as soon as you stop them, I have to start the engine to move the seat forward. One has a new battery.
