Chris, I'm with Luke here. The 406 Coupé is the most gorgeous car ever and if it had Activa suspension it would be perfect but engine choice is critical... You know there's only one engine to consider and I really don't think you need Luke or I to spell out what that engine is

You know well enough what's both Luke's and my favourite and in the 406 it's available with a manual 'box too

Shame the 406 is hampered by tin springs but you can't have everything...

This is a poor effort, I've done over 1100 in the Berlingo this week!

I think your both right, while the remapped 2.2HDi did go very well and I usually like diesels, I'm not a fan of the 2.2HDi engine for its potential issues.

What spoilt the car was how ordinary it drove, it was nothing at all special feeling and while it looks great from the outside it was nothing inside. I think part of that would be resolved by a 3.0 V6 and manual gearbox but not all of it. I like it but not as much as I was hoping.

And I really DONT need or want another quite large car. I really enjoyed having the C2 for its tiny dimensions and entertaining drive from a small car.

However, for now I'm holding off from buying another car and certainly wont be rushing into another purchase any time soon. Unless a nice XM catchs my eye, then the whole not wanting another big car thing goes out of the window

I'm enjoying the HDi Xantia and it does everything I want from a car, while I find it a nice place to be and enjoy the thought of a drive in it - just how a car should be.

I have, however, bought a toy to tinker with. Its not a car but it is some kind of transport ...

Crank that up to 950 miles in my week with the HDI Xantia

Kev should be about shortly

No, much smaller scale than that. It fits inside a Xantia estate, just

It really is more toy than transport and is older than me ... just uploading a picture now :)

Well I have done the inevitable thing and bought yet another C5

Something strangely different about this one though, it is considerably easier to park, the boot is tiny and refinement is not quite what is has been in my last three C5s :?

Here is my new toy, please don't ask me why or what I am going to do with it. I have no idea! It is great fun though!

It's a Sinclair C5 from 1985.

I have always wanted to have a try of one, I have seen them in countless museums but never got the opportunity to see a functioning one. They have become quite collectable now and can fetch some money for good conditioned ones. I am amased at how much parts go for, the front wheel cover alone is nice to have and this one is fully functional and in tact.

I went and bought it this morning. I bought it without seeing it run as there is no battery but felt the price was right and I fancied the idea of one. I stuck a battery on it when i got home and nothing, until I replaced a blown fuse which had it springing to life. It must have done something like 5 miles with me and friends test driving it around a cycle route and it seems in very good mechanical order. It needs a good clean and the electrical display does not work to show battery condition or motor use. The display (or POD) is partially working as without it the motor does not function. It needs a replacement voltage regulator, which is a few pence and a few minutes work.

Following the buyers guide, this is the only fault, which is not bad going!

I definitely dont plan to run it on the road but for private land and cycle routes, it is a lot of fun!

You silly bug**r! Still, it'll bring a smile to peoples' faces. I cycled past one of those and I was grinning so hard the top of my head was in danger of falling off!

Have fun, and I hope to see it at a rally soon.

Its' very obvious as to why you should use it, and the responses so far should have made it clear; It makes people smile and comment on it. What more do you need?

This is why I bought it  I'll have to make a point of taking it places :-D

Xac: I have seen both of those on my travels of looking for a C5, I bet they are fun in a whole different way!
