Seems you're plagued with oil leaks at the moment Kev :evil:

Is that leak on the XM from the engine or gearbox? Easy to tell by the smell of the oil...

It's engine oil! I suspect its one of the two long thin sealing pieces around the bearing cap as the crankshaft was reconditioned.

At least the G and 605 are leak free...apart from the minor 605 radiator leak. Damn!

If the fine wet and dry does not polish it out, then another option is an SKF Speedi sleeve.
The double lipped seal can be tried for at a bearing specialists.

Yes, very much so. For one the seal is held by engine oil pressure alone, so there is no spring to push the lips of the seal onto the shaft. They require much more careful handling on assembly than a traditional seal.

For the seal try the bearing companies, see if you can find a seal half the thickness and fit two so that they're running on different places on the shaft.
