Right.....if you are not getting any air out of the end of the pink pipe where it meets the intercooler it either means that the Turbo is seized or there is a blockage somewhere in the blue pipe that feeds air to the Turbo (if no air can get in none will come out)

Disconnect the blue pipe from where it joins to the air filter housing & then see if any air comes from the end of the pink pipe....

If it does the blockage is somewhere in the air filter housing.

If it doesn't you then need to check that there is no blockage in the blue pipe....to do this you will have to disconnect it from where it joins to the Turbo...you will get to this from under the car.

the engine would run ok even if the turbo is seized. I think your problem is pre turbo. Is the induction pipe that goes to the airbox blocked/collapsing?

Yeah that's right it would.....

There must be a blockage either in the pipe work that feeds the air filter box or in the air filter box itself or the pipework to the Turbo....

Yes there should be enough air flow even with a seized Turbo for the engine to run without pipes collapsing.

You aren't getting any air from the Turbo so this is either down to a blockage in the blue pipe or in the Turbo where the blue pipe connects to it....Or a blockage in the pink pipe.... my money would be on the blue pipe as this is the suction side of the Turbo.....the pink side is the blowing side so any blockage would be blown up the pipe to the intercooler.

Yes you now need to remove the blue pipe from the Turbo....the connection is normally a jubilee clip so you should be able to get it off ok.

At a guess, I would say something has got sucked into the turbo that got into the system when you had it apart. The problem is likely to be at the inlet end, thats the pipe that comes from the air filter.

It's an easy mistake to make and I think we all have learned something from the excersise.

I stuff rag into inlets all the time and live in fear that I'll do the same as you one day although I use blue paper. One day though, I'll have confetti flying out of the exhaust, I just know it
