alpine and speed pulse wire

im bidding on an alpinr navi headunit on ebay and it says it rqures a speed pulse connection and wanted to know where it was aon a phase 1 DTurbo, and also if it was needed?

as long as its not a cable driven speedo,the same wire can be found at the back of the instrument panel but you would need a wiring diagram to find out the exact pin number.

I would guess that the speed voltage sensor for the head unit automatically adjusts the volume for noisy high speed driving. Probably optional.

i think its a navigation head unit by the sounds of it,in which case it needs the speed pulse wire to work out distance traveled.

Oops didn't see the "navi" in the original mail.
If your pug has a digital dash, you should be able to get the signal from the rear of the instrument panel. Haynes schematic may help. The older 306 models have analogue speedos (like my '93 XTDT model), driven by cable, however the tacho is electrical.
