Hi everyone,
My name is Salvo. I recently managed to retrofit the head unit in my Peugeot Partner van, swapping the old RD45 stereo for a SMEG+ IV2. It took quite a bit of time and patience!
I have Diagbox (v7.40 along with a few other versions), so I successfully coded the new VIN to the SMEG+ unit. My original setup did not have Bluetooth, so I ran the microphone cable to the head unit as well as the cabling for a reverse camera https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008 ... 1802o9o7GX
I am now trying to figure out how to get this reverse camera working. Here is what I have done so far:
Wiring (40-Pin Quadlock / FAKRA Part B):
Pin 1: Rear_Cam_IN (+) (Video Signal)
Pin 7: Rear_Cam_IN (-) (Video Ground)
Camera Power: Positive wire connected to the reverse bulb (+12V), negative wire connected to chassis ground.
Diagbox Configuration:
I connected Diagbox to change the camera parameter from Absent to Present, but it will not let me save/telecode the option.
Note: I also have a UART/serial connection setup directly to the radio if that helps bypass anything.
Has anyone run into this issue when retrofitting a SMEG+ IV2, or does anyone know what I am missing to get the telecoding saved?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Salvo

@salvodipa I have removed the first topic you posted from the forum as you requested.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

You didn't tell, if the unit comes from a car with a rear camera.
As far as i know there must be some hardware inside, witch you can check with the version of the unit itself.

"connected Diagbox to change the camera parameter from Absent to Present, but it will not let me save/telecode the option."
This means that the bsi don't see the camera, there also need some connection wires to the bsi.

regarding the unit I don't know if it had before
I bought the unit (SMEG+ IV2) on eBay. Do you think it matters which vehicle the unit came from?

Yeah, you're right. I don't think the positive wire should be connected to the reverse light positive wire. I need to change that.Kees wrote: Yesterday, 21:00 "connected Diagbox to change the camera parameter from Absent to Present, but it will not let me save/telecode the option."

I've also read a forum thread here https://www.elektroda.com/rtvforum/topic3605971.html : where a user called JendrekMak said that the camera needs to be connected to the BSI (CAN bus).
From what I've read on other forums, several users have said that I should connect the positive wire to fuse F14 instead.

Re: SMEG+ IV2 Retrofit on Peugeot Partner — Reverse Camera Telecoding Help
Anyway, I have an update. I connected the positive wire for the camera to Fuse 14, but nothing happens on the radio side. There are no errors or warning messages displayed. It looks like the rear camera function is deactivated or not configured in the radio. So I think I need to get the Diagbox token to activate the camera from Diagbox...
