Hi,
Can anyone help me?
I have a C5 X7 1.6 HDi... I’ve replaced the timing belt, and everything was done according to the diagram—the holes align perfectly with the locking pins.
When I start it up, it idles very smoothly, but when I press the accelerator, the engine almost stalls.
I’m getting error code P0339 (crankshaft sensor)... I’ve replaced the sensor, but I’m still having the same problem—the car almost stalls when I hit the gas. I’m completely stumped... what’s wrong?
Best regards
Dag M

Re: P0339 fault code
Have you checked the condition of the wiring to the sensor and its plug pins?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Hi..Thanks for the reply... yes, I've replaced the connector.
But the same error code keeps appearing.

Re: P0339 fault code
Possibly you have damaged the pick up ring on the crank sprocket; or maybe the air gap is wrong - there's a locating pin, but it often breaks off.

Re: P0339 fault code
Well at least it wasn't Amazon, but my guess is it's no good. Was it a branded one?

Re: P0339 fault code
I cleaned the magnetic ring that the sensor sits on today... after that, the car won't start... and it's the same error code, P0339

Re: P0339 fault code
Looks like you will have to replace- preferably OEM. What happened to the original one?

Re: P0339 fault code
I had to remove the old one to replace the crankshaft seal... I damaged the ring while trying to pull it of

Re: P0339 fault code
Hi,
A quick update.
The car has been at the workshop—a new crankshaft position wheel, a new sensor for it, and a new connector for the sensor have been installed. The timing belt is correctly fitted, but the same error code, P0339, persists. The car idles fine, but it cannot handle any throttle input
