Will have a look at earth points, at some point soon! :)

Found a thread talking about the amp shutting off as a "self protection method" in the event of a speaker channel going open circuit. Poor connection at amp and at speakers / door jambs. Seems plausible.

More pressing, the car has given
Engine fault, repair needed
Message, SERVICE light on and horrible limp mode (refusal to rev over 2000 rpm and what feels like about 30 bhp instead of 150!

Quick read of faults this morning before commute to the office

Rate of engine oil dilution excessive,
Estimated dilution rate: 10%

I'm fairly sure it's about 6 litres of oil in the sump, so 600 ml of diesel from failed regents!? Seems a lot. Not aware of any other mechanisms for oil dilution.

Oil change at the weekend as first step.

Think "last 10 regents average" was something like 180 km, not ridiculously short.

All thoughts welcome! :)

My 308 was erratic for most of the hot weather with regen stuff , since the weather has gone back to normal its only done 1 in about 8 weeks.

When they need a service they can regen or fail to do a proper one , give the car a full service, if you can use that dpf cleaner you spray down the dpf then give it a run ( instructions on can plus videos on youtube)
Husky. :? Thinking outside of the box is better than sitting in a dark one.

Just a few potential reasons Matt. Bad injectors, worn rings, worn bores, worn pistons.

I'm intrigued to know how the system determines this... Oil level perhaps?

Not raving about that list of possibilities! :rofl2:

Quick googling at lunchtime:

Yep, high oil level + number of incomplete regen attempts is apparently the trigger.

Oil change, reset codes and see how it behaves is my plan.

180km is pretty short for regens ; it probably needs the DPF flushing out to get rid of the ash.
