PSA NAC RCC Updates

Hi everyone,

I own a Toyota Proace Verso 2019 with a NAC Wave 2 infotainment system. I'm trying to update the firmware via USB but the Updates list remains empty, I believe I'm missing the licence file.

Here are my current system details:
- Vehicle: Toyota Proace Verso 2019
- System version: 21.07.16.32_NAC-r0
- Mapping: 10.0.0-r0
- Target firmware: 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1

What I've tried so far:
- Downloaded the firmware .tar file directly from the PSA server
- Placed it at the root of a FAT32 USB stick (16GB)
- Extracted UpdateInfo.xml from the archive and placed it at the root alongside the .tar
- Attempted to connect via iPhone hotspot to retrieve the licence OTA, no result
- Toyota UK website does not recognise the vehicle VIN
- The NAC exported an instkey file via the Export Config option

I have attached my instkey file: instkey_0D01081F19D4EE802818.xml (added .jpg so it would be accepted as a download).

Would anyone (particularly @GiveMeABreak or @rui_saraiva) be able to provide the licence file for firmware version 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1 based on this instkey?

@_LCLM_: You probably can use the Peugeot Update software. But you just have to extract the .tar update file to a FAT32-formatted USB flash drive.

@owl: It doesn't identify some VIN and it doesn't give any error?

@Sergio Ribeiro: Are you sure the Citroën Update software is offering the 44.07.33.32_NAC-r0 firmware version? AFAIK, currently any NAC_EUR_WAVE4 system has only been offering the invalid 44.06.44.22_NAC-r0 firmware (with an expired signing certificate). Anyway, there are also 2 "available" versions of the 44.07.33.32_NAC-r0 firmware, with 6 312 212 480 and 6 312 210 432 bytes, only the former is valid (the one linked on my page). If you connect your car to a WiFi network, you don't need the license on the USB flash drive. If you still need the license, you need to post (or send me) the full VIN. For privacy reasons, all VINs on this forum are automatically obfuscated, only forum staff could read them.

Well, most probably citroen servers recognized my system as wave4, because citroen update doesnt show any update (before it was offering wave3 even on my system wave4 installed). I wanted to check via your site, I am writing VIN and click OK, it shows nothing. Maybe you can check V R7 AC YHZ RLL 018090

Thanks for the quick reply! To clarify: the app is indeed offering 44.06.44.22_NAC-r0, not 44.07.33.32 - I mixed that up in an earlier message, sorry. That matches exactly what you described (the invalid one with the expired cert).

I can connect the car to my phone's WiFi hotspot, so I'll try that first and skip the license on the USB drive, as you suggested. I'll report back once I've tried it.

Some (not all) systems that had a NAC_EUR_WAVE3 system from the factory (with a 3x.0x.xx.xx firmware installed) and then upgraded to a 4x.0x.xx.xx firmware are now being correctly identified as NAC_EUR_WAVE4. Some are still being identified as NAC_EUR_WAVE3, and those are stuck in whatever 4x.0x.xx.xx firmware version they have installed. Only Stellantis knows why...

Previously, they just blindly identified some NAC_EUR_WAVE3 (and worse, NAC_CN_WAVE3) systems as NAC_EUR_WAVE4, even with 3x.0x.xx.xx firmware installed.

Hello, I also have a problem with the NAC WAVE 4 update. I retrofitted from SMEG+ to NAC WAVE 4. I am currently on 42.01.37.32_NAC-r0. I am using the versions of rui_saraiva. I want to install 44.02.13.12_NAC-r0. I am also interested in whether after the update the icon for which music source I am using (radio, USB) will appear in the bar at the top. Will there be any difference in the graphics and menus if it is updated. I am attaching a picture. Otherwise, for the moment everything is working fine and nothing is crashing.

The only valid firmware version for the NAC_EUR_WAVE4 systems is the 44.07.33.32_NAC-r0, you can't install any other. After Nov 8 18:27:06 2026 GMT, even this version couldn't be installed, so if you really want to update, there are only 2 weeks left.

Because you have replaced the infotainment system head unit, the Stellantis servers don't have the VIN of your car paired with the serial number (UIN) of your current system. Any official update tool uses the VIN to obtain the associated UIN and the respective firmware license. In the previous screen of that "System version", you should see an "Export config" option that you can use to find the UIN - it will create the files "instkey_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xml" and "packageslist_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.txt" in a FAT32-formatted USB flash drive. Those 2 files have your current head unit's UIN in their filenames, it's the 20 x's.

Then you can download the firmware license for the 44.07.33.32_NAC-r0 firmware version and your UIN from (replace the x's):
