Forced regen on a cold car is a poor idea - very extreme temperature swings can cause all kinds of issues. I stupidly did it once on the C8 and I got away with it but if at all possible will avoid it in future. Much better if there was a method (and Im sure that one exists) to trick the car into bringing forward a regen whilst you are already close enough to fulfilling all of the triggering conditions - see above for a longer story.Huskyxantia wrote: Yesterday, 16:48 Im going to throw a curve ball , I was told that a forced regen isnt really good for the car .... not sure myself as ive seen it being done and the car was ok after I watched a BMW while my car was having its mot last yr its very loud smells and I thought the car was going to explode .. then it all went normal the mechanic came back out to the car checked it all over then he did the emissions test which it passed . Id say tell the neighbours your planning on doing it as it can be noisy
Just out of curiosity on the two regens over the weekend on the long drive I noticed that the DPF ran at about 600-650C up from its usual operating temp of 280-350C. For me a regen request is the one feature of the FAP APP that would complete it and address a real weakness in many diesel cars.
