Oh the abs esp all came back up today which is the clip that holds the bearing into its housing the clip needs to be moved up about 2 mm so that can be done soon. The abs sensor is partially being blocked by the clip .
Attached is an example of how the clip on my car has moved as indicated by the red pen mark

Leak over pipe has new o rings and is fine no leaks now , but watching the car on tick over the injector was found and the leak was very noticeable especially with everything out of the way , ive purchased a new one which will be here Thursday, I had to replace 2 earlier this year and this is one of them which is leaking , unfortunately the Warrenty has expired , but this old one is now a deposit. New one comes with full 12 month Warrenty and paper work regarding testing and so on. I took the foam pad out which sits at the injectors location as it was soaked with diesel. If it was a petrol car , its not worth thinking about that out come.
Maybe this was also causing poor starting too

Inspection of the new seal revealed it was weaping the one that came out of it is still supple with no splits either so can go back in , mighty peed off about this as I was always told new seals with drive shaft replacement.... well ive just debunked that regarding my replacement

How ever did this abs sensor work before I took it off ,cleaned, then put it back only for it not to, it was caked in grease from the old drive shaft boot as that failed because the joint failed then this made tie rod amd lower balljoint to fail , today i undid everything took that weaping gearbox seal out and put the original one back which was slightly thicker and fitted snug, gearbox topped up with my oil pump again oh so quick and tidy, I then sorted out the abs sensor , photos will tell the story..

Good work Husky although I've always believed the 'ears' of circlips should not be positioned as you have in cut-out. I'd put them 180 degrees around from where you have them currently.
Or am I missing something?

The hubs were purchased 3 yr ago new with the bearings in & lower ball joints so I guess who ever done the fitting of bearings done the clip as it was. When then boot went on the original shaft the grease covered the sensor and everything else and the abs was still working till everything got cleaned up , weird it played up when it was all clean.CitroJim wrote: 11 Sep 2026, 05:36 Good work Husky although I've always believed the 'ears' of circlips should not be positioned as you have in cut-out. Another thing was for a couple of days White feathers were laying around both cars where the problem sides for repairs needed were. Said to my wife that's either my dad or mum telling me check your cars , mum passed April this yr, thank god when I did check they were looking over me . 308cc is done, today the top tie rods arrive for the 2008.

That is the same as one of mine which Jim used for his wheel nuts yesterday. I believe he was happy with it!!
