Old oil seal looked ok but wasn't going to take any chance so it now replaced with a nice new one. I've been caught before with a weaping seal after a shaft change. Changed the outer tie rod as the ball joint dust cover didn't look to clever photo of new one showing part number for peugeot 308cc

Some size references, note my hub carrier to leg bolts size mine is 18mm 17 won't fit anyone had the same issue ?

17mm top tie rod nut
36mm hubnut
22mm lower wish bone arm to hub carrier
E16 brake calliper housing
Theres a little u shape locking clip that has 2 hex bolts t25 I think. This holds the drive shaft mid way bearing into place in its housing.

Think originals are 18mm, aftermarket tends to be 17mm

Peugeot/Citroen a bit of a habit of using 16mm (M10) and 18mm (M12) whereas standard metric they'd be 17mm and 19mm respectively :)

They get tighter in service Husky ;)

I usually undo them with the wheel resting on the ground and big chocks that prevent wheel movement...

Did you undo it in the end?

The undo part was ok, just the doing up , once its back on the ground then the weight of the car should help with the final nip up , shame about my screw driver its taken a battering over the last several years.

Hub nut tight toqure wrench officially dead yes its snapped never mind , gear box topped up using my oil pump so much tidy and quick no mess.

Then when putting battery carrier and housing back I saw this large 30 amp fuse wasn't tightened down my god what is this for and what does it power .... Wonder if it this throwing up the dpf warning ?? Electric and French = mixed bag of mysteries

Nothing on the output side of that fuse (the one with the Nyloc), so nowt to worry about there.

Originally they'd all be the flange nuts (like the other side) so am not sure why that's been swapped.

Its the first time ive had this battery thing exposed and after taking the photos i noticed the nylock nut the teminal this is on did have circuit lower down going over to the right . The other nuts were slightly lose so they all got a little nip up nothing to harsh. The tracking on the new drive shaft side was out a little, however the passenger side is towed in a fair bit i ran out of energy so that can wait till another day.

115£ New trye , 4 wheel alignment, plus a check over of what ive done and stupid me the top tie rod wasn't tighten up properly so the chap did it for me , even popping the spare back in the boot aswell also said if it still feels funny pop back and I will recheck all again free. Now I hope by clearing the abs esp waring lights with my diagnostic tool should be all that's needed now , I had to undo and take the abs sensor out when working on the assembly last week , and as like before when I did the same thing then it had to be wiped then everything was back to normal
