So just thinking about the measurement of the cars drive shaft and the photos I took, the red circle shows this part which looks like it's not sitting innits correct location , its sticking out a bit so this has made my recorded measurement 980 when it could be 945mm ... we're see what the other parts supplies comeback to me with, thanks to all whom have helped .

Sums up the ongoing pettiness afflicting so much of the world these daysHuskyxantia wrote: 01 Sep 2026, 14:51 Not a very productive day at all , I measured the drive shaft it was bigger than 2 numbers ive been given regarding drive shafts for the 308cc so I went to the main dealers and was met by a big grinning bearded chap who quickly said how they no longer handle parts , I had to go to the other part they are now under a mile up the road , gave me directions and off I went , well this was great in I went into this big massive unit , I was met by your typical English chap .. vejay ... i put forwards what I needed and quickly was told NO we can't give you the OEM numbers were not allowed.
So off he went then I spoke to another chap who used to work in the service part to the original dealership , he told me now they have to give the car keys back to the owner while they then have to cut a new one and programe it then sell it to the owner of the car because its there rule now???
I asked the totter for assistance to unload it... 'Sorry, can't...' I asked 'why not?' I was told they were now not permitted in case they damaged the car. They added that the exception was if I was disabled...
'That's OK then, I am and if you add a scratch to my van I really don't care...'
I got the assistance I needed!!!

Re: 206cc to a 308cc How ? Why ? Everything 308cc
Not sure if im going to source one as a German company replied to an email , this isnt a match for your vehicle, now back in the day this would of been followed by , but however if you click this link here is your part for your car .... no nothing like that at all, so ive eneded up having to ask them for part number of sorts for the one for my car , what is it with some people that dont have the foresight to just do the next step? As for your tip trip Jim, he's one, i tip my old oil into a 5 gallon drum always have at each oil chanhe and when that's full i take it to the tip as they have a large tank it gets tipped into then they use it for bio diesel, so first couple of vists all was ok , then blakey comes along , her butler you can't pour that in there its to much ... honest it was a proper on the buses moment I had to tip it into a jug then pour it into the container , soon as butler was gone up went the whole lot in one go, I kept the jug its in my shed, however when I was waiting to get out Mr jobs blakey worth came over and said maybe bring just a small can at a time . I replied I pay my council tax I pay the up keep of my car its more environmentally friendly the way I DO IT and that's is the way it will ALWAYS be , he replied its ok I won't let you in next time then , I just laughed and drove off , I got home telephoned the tip and asked them if it was ok to pour old engine oil down my drain , NO .... came the voice the other end we will take old oil here the more the merrier... so I mentioned about blakey then the reply... take no notice of that twit he's on his way out ....

I've had the same, I took used to save the used oil in a larger 20l container and hence only have the messy job of taking the near full big container to the tip infrequently = "can't empty that, it's commercial waste"
Err, no it isn't.

Autofixercom ebay store sent this message this morning
Good morning,
The matching OE number from the catalog is: 3272 PZ
So checking the number on ebay , every shaft came up passenger side. I have asked for the driver side so now need to wait and see what reply comes back.
However yesterday I bit the bullet went with my gut and this morning yesterdays purchase arrived i sat this new one side by side with the old they both seemed the same length, the company have said if it dont fit theres 30 days to send it back .
Two opitions now which I will decide what to do with The one I have when I get a reply back from the other seller , once I get the part number from them I will then check my purchase of the one I have now and see if part number matches it.

Also seen and heard some of these tip workers think there so above there paid grade its laughable, however there are those who do help and know there job .Well them in top positions dont need to worry about services as most drive company cars .

It's a recycling centre, how can they put limits on how much you recycle? It's stupidity. My local recycling centre staff sit round a table drinking tea and shout plastic or general etc if you look unsure.

On the oil and tip subject, I just love the Blakey and Butler references Husky
I too have a 5 gallon drum for waste oil and so far, never a problem at our tip. Maybe because the waste oil tank is out of the totters' sight and looks like the remains of the Torrey Canyon...

My only niggle is the longest part of my original drive shaft is thick , the new one is thinner BUT it definitely comes up with the matching oem
Do i send it back and get one with same thickness shaft even though the length and numbers are the same or put it on ... tbh the weight is the same..
