Hi all,

I am having few issues with our van and investigation is getting difficult..

1. There was battery sign on the dash indicating no charge. This was confirmed by low system voltage when engine running. The alternator was in bad shape regardless so I replaced with new NK unit. However, the light is still on and diagnostics reporting LIN network fault U1400 which refers to LIN network. I will attempt to see if there's any signal on this line but was wondering if anyone have wiring diagram for this circuit?

2. Multiplexed additive pump fault - reported two faults in ECU, P1434 and P1435. The pump itself reports no fluid. I have ordered top-up kit and used approx 0.5 L of it, then overflow was indicating tanks is full. I have ebay Lexia tool and 9. something Diagbox, but when I go to additive pump maintenance, there is no option to 'reset refill' or similar funciton. There is one in the engine ECU section, but after using this feature the level reported by the pump is still 3%, and all faults remain present. Anyone have any ideas with this? I am due to order different tool to see if that helps, but my Thinkdiag carried out same procedures as described and it didn't work either..

I'm wondering if the indicated network fault is preventing the engine ECU from talking to the pump and hence doing the reset in the Engine ECU is not communicated to the pump. I'd start by going through all the connectors at the ECUs and anywhere in circuit to ensure you have no corrosion or bent pins etc. Once you are happy with the wiring then a Diagbox global scan is probably the best next move. I have spent some time today, purchased Haynes online manual, but it's so bad I have no confidence in the detail of it at all.

Investigated alternator LIN network, according to Haynes, it should be direct connection from alternator to ECU conn. B pin 31 - no continuity found. However, in Haynes website, if you follow trouble-shooter, it suggests there is inline connection and a splice (to be confirmed). There's also chance the ECU pin is completely different. Strangely when started the battery was charging at 14.2V so assume there was some sort of connection somewhere. After erasing fault in the ECU it didn't come up again.

But then, the multiplexed pump started to fail communication all together. A little lost now. If anyone had anything similar, please share knowledge..
