Look past the dirt & dust &, except for a couple of small rear end corners dings, the paint & bodywork is in pretty good nick for a car that's 'been well used'. Our local CT tester always comments on the old gals condition.
Sorry about photo taken in barn but she's not moving until ready to return to garage for leak problem.

It has been , & still is, a great car.
Lots of room, 7 seats with all but front two captains seats removable. Sliding passenger doors very useful.
It's 26 years old & I've owned it for about 23 years.
Apart from 1 clutch, 1 cam belt etc, front wishbones/ball joints & dash LCD display repairs it's not had a serious spanner on it , normal servicing excepted until the recent work reported here . The 2 litre HDi motor is reputedly 'unbreakable' & fuel economy very good for a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick.
A/C apart, all the bells & whistles of this top of the range Roland Garros version still work.
I've had numerous cars in my life including a long series of Mitsubishi Starion & Pajero variants but this is the only one that I have affectionately kept more than a very few years & will hopefully see my driving life out as a very versatile second car.
The Citroen version is the Evasion hence the recent work on my Pug by the local Citroen agency who know the model & have quick access to parts.

The 806HDI has been recommended to me in the past but I could never find one that was affordable. Being terminally skint I have always bought RHD cars from expats because they are way cheaper. The downside is, although they have all been good cars generally they have all suffered indifferent servicing while living here in (previously soggy) Brittany. The last two failed the test due to rust, and had to be scrapped because there was nobody here willing to do a repair. I do pretty much all my own repairs including welding and bodywork but have no safe way to get the car up in the air. Having no garage is never a good thing. And being nearly 80 doesn't help. My wife's 2001 406 estate is a miracle. The 2-litre HDI diesel certainly is bulletproof and still very economical. My 2-litre petrol 307CC is a certifiable POS. I've had V8s that were better on petrol and the only reason it hasn't rusted itself off the road is because it is mostly plastic. The biggest aggravation is finding parts..........and its only 20 years old. Still full of electronics. Big mistake.

Now that's the problem with my C8, once you have a car like the C8 or 806 or similar it's very difficult to find a different vehicle that will match what it offers or even surpass it. Nothing matches the old school MPVs.
