So, the clone didn’t work.
I used HDD Raw Copy Tool v2.6 to clone the old SD image to a FAT formatted SD card.
All the partitions showed up in the new SD and I ran chkdsk on all of them to repair any corrupted files.
Installed the radio back in the car and now it’s stuck in boot loop.
The logo and the fan come on for a second, then switch off and the radio reboots again…
I guess I’ll need a fresh firmware installed.
Do you know where I can find v.2.77 or 2.80?

Check your PM for links.

With a a bit of luck you might find that the configuration has cloned over.

It's possible that some of the components on you head unit's motherboard have failed but you won't know that until you get the SD card installed preoperly.

Yesterday I went for another try.
This time I copied the backup.img to the SD but cleaned the Windows System Volume Information from all the partitions before installing the SD back in the radio.
Once I switched on the ignition, the radio was working, was able to change radio stations and volume but the screen was stuck on the logo…
Today I’ll go for one last try with a new 32GB SD, if it doesn’t work, I’ll go for the full firmware installation.

What version are you looking for? I don't have 2.75 as I think it was only ever fitted at the factory. I do have 2.77 as next nearest though.

Hi Paul,
I've been reading the thread, and I've got an already reported issue with my head unit reloading a phantom CD every 15 seconds along with a blank/black screen, and km instead of miles, that I cannot change at the moment of course.
I bought this 2014 RCZ phase 2 with this issue, so I have no idea what is the software version installed.
I'm happy to start with v.2.77 and upgrade up to the latest (v.2.86 I believe?) Once the system is functional again, but happy to take any thoughts and inputs you have of course as you clearly know A LOT about this system.

Thank you for the compliment but I don't know as much as I would like to, believe me! I will PM you links to 2.77, 2.80, 2.85 and 2.86.

Check your PM in five minutes. Use at your own risk, etc.
