Just fiited a new abs sensor ready for the CT this week and noticed some strange tyre wear. The tyres are dated 28th week of 2021 and the pressures are fine. They were tracked a couple of thousand miles ago and hardly moves. It's likely to do 300 miles in a day then sit for 2 months.
Right hand front cracking/splits on outside edge
LH front, same but on the inside
What causes this, never seen it before?
Cheers

Re: Tyre wear
Since the wear is on the left side of each tyre looking forward I would think you may have a rough surface right hand turn that you negotiate regularly ? Just a thought. That is a more familiar sight in Milton Keynes with its multiple roundabouts but as you drive on the wrong right side of the road excessive roundabouts would cause the opposite edges to undergo the stress and possibly crack.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Tyre wear
What make of tyres are they ?
When the tracking was done, if they adjusted it on just one side it might not be set right. You could see if the number of threads showing to the track rod ends are the same on each side.
If the old tyres did not wear like this before the tracking was done then it could suggest the tracking is now not right.

Re: Tyre wear
I would have expected both tyres to wear on the inside OR outside if it was tracking. These have both worn on the RHS. I'll know if it's tracking on Thursday because the check that for the CT also I can compare to results to the last time it went in.
As Mick mentioned, it may be a left hand turn / island but this car normally sits in a straight line.
The tyres are Nexan, had several sets now and got them on my van aswell.
