Fuse help!,

Unread post by PeterRudd »

I’m having trouble finding a fuse I need and my car has completely stopped and I can’t even lock it.

It’s wider than other fuses too

That looks like the 'shunt fuse'. It is not a fuse; it is used to switch the car between 'showroom' and 'customer' settings.

It's called a shunt and deliberately has different spacing so as not to be mixed up with ordinary fuses - something, would you believe, I only learned about recently.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

Moved to Citroen.

If you've got a multi meter check the integrity of the shunt, and that it is in the 'customer' position (which might not be that easy to see!).

Has the shunt actually blown? If it has thats a first for me. As above have you confirmed with meter to see if it has continuity?
