I am all new here and to Citroen so please understand my constant state of confusion
Want to start by saying I clearly did not do my homework before I started playing with the car, so this is what happened;
My caliper was stuck and rear brakes were bad so I started the job to butter up the caliper and change brakes.
No, I did not disconnect the battery and I did not put anything in service mode.
I had no idea I had to.
So, after replacing everything, all seemed fine. Then the rear brake cable cracked and spewed out brake fluid all over. Ordered a new one, and a new caliper.
Then, my mind blanked out and I let go of the brake cable so it got pulled in a little.
Found someone with Diagbox that got the cable out and it is now attached again.
But, I got Permanent, Error code U1219
Service lamp on, parking brake faulty and antirolll bar faulty.
Using Diagbox to fix the parking brake, it says calibrating then stops. Doing it manually and we can hear the motor try to pull the cables but then stops.
Our citroen dealer nearby doesn't touch it and don't wanna check what can be wrong, all they want to do is to replace the whole thing
Soo I have a couple of questions; the regular brake petal seems very soft. I have been bleeding the brakes but is it another that needs to be bleed? The ABS one through Diagbox?
Can air in the system cause the EPB to not be able to work properly?
An old mechanic told me I could try to grease up the wires, that there is a box on top of the rear axle that I can adjust and use a torx and grease them up. But Citroen says it's on the front axle because the parking brake is on the front wheels on my car?
Also, the only black box I find is in the middle under the car and contains the EPB engine.
Is there another one?
I am sorry for the long post, but I'm genuinely trying to learn and understand
