My Citroën C4 from 2005 won’t cold start

Hello,

I just bought a Citroen c4 from 2005 and a couple of days later it just didn’t wanna start.
The problem occurs only in the mornings or more like when I try to start it for the first time of the day. Then it just cranks but doesn’t start. Last day it started after the 4th attempt but today not at all.
It starts flawlessly if I had got it to start once before.
Hope somebody could help :)

Petrol or diesel? Which engine?
Manual or automatic?
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

If a diesel the fuel filter might be draining back.

In a similar train of thought I also wondered if it's a diesel and had a squeezy bulb for priming the fuel filter. If it did then giving it a few pumps to see if that improves cold starting.
