Update on my install, I striped back the panels and did a quick check. Couldn't see anything obvious and all seemed ok as expected from the initial install. I left the panels off and returned to the dealer for programming and to get them to do an electrical check as I couldn't see any issues physically. Turns out they were able to program this time round with no issues. Not sure what went wrong the first time, maybe they had a junior or unskilled person in this area working on the car?

Does your car have foot gesture to open the tailgate? If so, did fitting the towbar affect its operation? Ours didn't work after dealer fitted non-genuine bar.
