Re: Re: mk1 c5
If a diesel it will have a turbo, if petrol it will not have a turbo according to the Haynes workshop manual.

As per duckduck.ai
The turbo on the Citroën C5 Mk1 (2000-2008) is typically located between the bulkhead and the rear of the engine, accessible from underneath the vehicle. It's advisable to check for any leaks in the boost pipes if you're experiencing issues.
The Citroën C5 MK1, produced from 2000 to 2008, features a turbocharged engine option. The turbocharger is typically located at the rear of the engine, between the bulkhead and the engine block.
Accessing the Turbo
Location: The turbo is positioned towards the back of the engine, making it somewhat difficult to access.
Inspection: To inspect the turbo, you may need to access it from underneath the vehicle, as it is situated under the scuttle panel.
Common Issues
Symptoms of Problems: If you hear a "whoosh" sound during acceleration, it may indicate a boost leak rather than a turbo failure.
Check Boost Pipes: Inspect the boost pipes for any splits or leaks, as these can cause performance issues.
This information should help you locate and understand the turbocharger in your Citroën C5 MK1.

Only if it's a diesel engine. We still don't know whether we're dealing with petrol or diesel.Sloppysod wrote: 20 Mar 2026, 16:12This information should help you locate and understand the turbocharger in your Citroën C5 MK1.
Maybe a simple question will get an answer. Does the engine have spark plugs or glow plugs?

On the 2.0 HDi the turbo is down the back of the engine if looking facing the front of the car.
