Lexia/Diagbox Engine and Airbag ECU not recognized, but others are

Unread post by Ryuk99 »

Hello Guys,

I just ordered a Lexia/Diagbox Diagnostic Device „Full Chip“ and tried to read out my 1.6THP C5, but to my own Shock it didn’t recognize the Engine, Airbag and MFD ECUs but it did recognize all the others. So is my Device a bad one, or maybe the firmware for the VCI is bad?

I installed Diagbox 7.57 properly, I even tried reinstalling it with clean Windows 7 32bit installation, but same result.

I have attached Pictures of my VCI and from Diagbox.

I would really appreciate your help!

In the past i had the same problem, but i find out, it was the VCI.
So i bought a new one, and the problem was solved.
Greetings,
Kees.

It looks to be missing the 10k resistor from the bottom picture....
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

The missing Resistor can cause this? So i could order a Resistor, solder it, and it could work?

I used a different (pre configured VM) Diagbox Version 9.125 and it finally recognized the Engine and ABS ECUs. The Multifunction Display ECU is still not recognized tho... Well, should be sufficient enough for me.

Does anyone know where this 10k resistor should be please?

My full chip is not reading airbag or aircon ECU so this may be my issue but Marc was not explicit (which was highly unusual for him).

Cheers Paul. I actually found that shortly after posting and I’ve already soldered a 10k resistor in and no change.

So much for full chip, eh?

Remind me what version of Diagbox you're using, Roger.

I've tried both 7.02 and 7.57, Windows 11 Pro and Win 7 32 bit respectively.

I've also just turned Windows Update off.

After dropping that 10k resistor in, I noticed that there is a high frequency noise. Not sure it was
there before.

Also tried scanning with engine off key on and engine running.

Should perhaps try now I have WU turned off. I doubt it will make a difference. Did consider Marc mentioned CAN systems more likely to be affected by the 10k res.

Just wondering if the file I used for the ECU write was good.

My mate said, albeit he doesn't work on old stuff, that it is likely that the BSI has all the information for telling the ECU what systems are onboard but I doubt the CPH was advanced enough.

I am also wondering about configuration screen. I have set it to Wired BSI or absent. Technically it's not a BSI so wonder if I should try absent.

7.57 should be late enough for the 2013 Peugeot 3008. My 2013 C5 is fine with 7.58.

Can you confirm that the Win 7 is Pro and not Home version?

Yes. Agreed. It's bob on for the 3008. Just the damned Xantia that's causing issues. No change there!

Ah, I do get confused about which vehicle we're talking about.

Sorry. Always, always, always War Horse unless I say different...

It's the only problematic Citroen I have!
